I was born in Browning, Montana, an enrolled member of the Blackfeet
Nation, Amskapi Pikuni. I have been doing artwork all my life. Since moving home to Browning, Montana from Seattle, Washington, my artwork has been concentrated in Stained glass and Porcupine quillwork. Artwork is my full time profession, working in my home studio. I have a broad foundation in painting, drawing and design, this fosters flexibility to create organic forms as well as traditional geometric. Adapting imagery of the Northern Plains, I enjoy and appreciate the simplicity of the designs and the primary colors, re-imaging cultural art forms in the medium of glass. Professionalism, experience, creativity and a command of the materials allows my artist style to fit specific environments, I specialize in one of a kind designs. I try to stay open to every opportunity while still finding unique ways to express myself. Incorporating objects and traditional porcupine quillwork into some stained glass designs to add some dimension becomes a fusion of old tradition with new form, cultural heritage and creativity. I challenge the viewer to collect Plains Indian objects as art rather than objects for study. I am constantly involved in creating new work in stained glass, mosaic or porcupine quillwork and enjoy the challenges that commissions bring. |
